The Truth Behind Turncoat Tucker Carlson
Communists cannot distinguish between legal and illegal or between a man and a woman. Some conservatives cannot distinguish between “America First” and “America Alone.” “America First” does not mean “America Only.” Tucker Carlson, an exemplar of WASP privilege, built a shrine to himself on Fox News. He gathered whistleblowers who challenged the narrative of the January 6 insurrection. He deserves credit for that. He gave a forum to leftists cancelled by their own publications, such as Glen Greenwald, as they infiltrated the WOKE movement with libertarian, isolationist, anti-Semitic, and anti-American perspectives. The conspiracies disseminated by the extremes of the right and left proved to be circular rather than linear. In their refusal to acknowledge the existence of evil except for actions taken by the USA, they buttressed the anti-Western assertions of communism.
Camouflaged by Christian slogans, they endeavored to remove all traces of Judaism from their preferred faiths. They augmented their schism between the Old and New Testaments by driving a wedge between the US and Israel. In their desire to avoid resorting to war, they strengthened America’s existential enemies. In a bizarre revisionist history of WWII, they relied on Holocaust deniers and anti-Israel partisans to turn Churchill into a villain and Hitler and Stalin into victims. They relied on “historians” lacking in scholarship to pretend that the two atomic bombs dropped on Japanese cities constituted anti-Christian policies. They ignored reliable estimates of another million dead Americans required to drive the emperor-worshipping, fanatical Japanese to surrender. They utilized their version of cultural Marxist identity politics to characterize Jews as colonialists and war mongers. They portrayed Jews and Israelis as Machiavellian figures who duped a naïve America into fighting their wars and maintaining their control. These are blood libels worthy of Nazis.
Charging Trump with complicity on the celebration of the Army’s 250th birthday and escalating wars in the Middle East and Eurasia is another despicable example of Narcissistic timing. Carlson prioritizes what will earn him clicks, celebrity (which is actually notoriety), and self-aggrandizing leadership without an informed following. To assist Israel in downing drones and missiles targeted at civilians is not tantamount to deploying thousands of Americans on Israeli soil. To claim neutrality with an Iran that daily chants “Death to America” is a dementia that rivals that of Joe Biden. To pretend that Iran didn’t play a part in the Khobar Towers Bombing, the Hezbollah attack on our Lebanese embassy and marine barracks, the seizure of our Tehran Embassy holding Americans for 444 days, the production of devices used in Afghanistan and Iraq to kill and wound thousands of American troops, and attempted assassinations of Trump and former members of his administration is to engage in willful blindness. Iran-funded Hamas murdered Americans and took others hostage. Houthis attacked US bases and killed American troops. We have been in an endless war of 46+ years with Iran. Iran has been waging war on us. We have not responded. Weakness is always a mistake, as Chamberlain, Clinton, Obama, and Biden learned at significant cost to America. It is particularly lethal in the Middle East.
Endless war is the one between good and evil. Pretending to promote peace while ignoring adversaries engaged in war against us is the act of a fool or a traitor. Carlson has not advocated leaving NATO or the UN, although both use American taxpayers’ funds to fuel Iran and its proxies. He acts as though the existence of two oceans suffices to safeguard America from “foreign entanglements.” To ignore the fragility of Western Civilization is to ignore history. Pearl Harbor and the attacks of 9/11 should demonstrate the absurdity of assuming that oceans will protect us.
Carlson has no place in his soul for Jews. He has been silent about two academic years of unconstitutional discrimination against Jewish students on campuses. I don’t recall his repudiation of the murder of two Israeli diplomats in DC or the Islamist slaughter in Boulder. Now we see people like Steve Bannon, who claimed to be a man of character, backing down on Israel. If he sees any people on the planet worthy of an alliance, it is not the people who gave the world the Ten Commandments. Jack Posobiec also expressed his disdain for Israelis. The crew of anti-Zionists, including Candace Owens, the off-the-wall Hodge Twins, Rogen’s sidekick, the phony historian Dave Smith, and the very shaky perched like Humpty Dumpty on a wall WOKE right, are among those ready to shred their connections to MAGA in defense of a suicidal foreign policy. They accuse Trump of complicity while he pursues a peace deal with the devil. The devil is Iran, not Israel. Carlson’s cabal has its head in the sand. They will soon find themselves keeping company with Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, and the Squad.
There are worse things than war. Surrender to totalitarianism is worse. As has been said, it is worse than war to have the jackboot of tyranny stomping on your head forever. These conservatives who pretend to honor our military make a mockery of those who fought. Deterrence is a fine idea, but it doesn’t always work. Appeasement sounds like the word peace, but they have nothing in common. When war is waged against you, you can submit, acquiesce, appease, surrender, accept dhimmitude, or commit suicide, or you can fight. Peace is lovely, Marjorie Taylor Green, after victory. Peace before victory means the gulag and the guillotine. Invoking peace amplifies the voice of the enemy within. Iran and its proxies remain a threat to America, as do the gotaways, the millions of illegal aliens who invaded during the Open Borders onslaught, the cells of terrorists, and the domestic Americans who will accept any indignity rather than fight back.
Carlson and his merry band of conservative conspirators are weakening MAGA. They are preaching falsehoods to undermine the very masculinity they claim to work to restore. By making it impossible for America to ever fight another war, they exacerbate the threats against us, weaken our allies, and undermine morale. They align with our adversaries in the name of peace. They strengthen totalitarian forces, here and abroad, and further polarize the public. Contrary to the anti-Israel propaganda, America benefits tremendously from its alliance with Israel. We share intelligence, technology, medical research, and techniques for saving lives on the battlefield. Israel purchases American arms. We share values, beliefs, and traditions. We share a history and the Judeo-Christian heritage. We have a legacy that opposes communism, Islamism, and globalism. Carlson now adds his weight to the forces arrayed against Israel and the U.S. Should Israel be defeated, it would be America alone in a hostile world.
Tucker presents himself as a fisherman, a shooter, an attendee of sports events, and a socializer with the Trump Brain Trust. Tucker is not macho. He is not a man of superior intellect or insight. He lacks introspection. He is motivated by an anger that consumes him and moves him to declare war on the inner circle he labored to join. It can now be anticipated that he will move to a more radical position, driven by envy, arrogance, ignorance, and a sense of entitlement. He no longer has the President’s ear. I think his next step is to shoot at it, not the way Crooks did in Butler, but rhetorically, surrounded by his old and new friends. They are all conspicuous for their venom and hubris. Tucker’s intemperate dismissal of Israel’s right to exist reveals more about Tucker than about Middle Eastern realities and complexities. Tucker is not a first-class analyst. He is not a first-class human being. Tucker and his buddies are the hyenas of the podcast, howling, scavenging, and blood thirsty.
Every military move carries a risk. General Eisenhower said the odds of success at Normandy were 50%. There is a risk attached to inaction. Failure to take on threats is risky; for decades, Iranians chanted “Death to America” and “Death to the Great Satan.” We didn’t take Hitler seriously. It’s time we took the Ayatollahs seriously.
Tucker was never willing to fight or to have his children fight. He fights from the safety of a studio while Israelis in Tel Aviv are buried in their apartment complexes, citizens of Jerusalem seek safety in bomb shelters with their children, who have known nothing else for more than 600 days, and the brave children of everyday Israelis fight proudly to secure their homeland. God gave the Israelis that land, Tucker. You who claim to cling so devoutly to faith ought to know that. Jews are the indigenous people of Israel. Money flows from Qatar, Iran, and China to voices that oppose Israel’s right to exist. It will be interesting to learn whose coffers those funds enrich.
The Trump Administration reflects several divergent views. Trump and Elon had some disagreements, as is expected with two apex, alpha males. But their reconciliation is already underway. A commonality of interests will reunite them in ways that benefit this country. Tucker Carlson has nothing to offer the Trump Brain Trust. The sooner this malcontent, consumed by anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic animosity departs, the better.
America first does not mean America alone. Unwillingness to fight stupid, endless wars is not the same thing as being willing to fight existential wars for survival. The duration of the Global War on Terror was caused by the stupid rules of engagement that prolonged the fight and increased the number of American casualties. A strong military can not always deter, especially the fanatical, whose apocalyptic ideology drives them to embrace martyrdom. Taking on enemies early on can avoid a more protracted war later on. Libertarian hopes are akin to LSD hallucinations. Isolationist cant does not remove the reality of enemies intent upon a global caliphate. Accommodating anti-Semites never bodes well for world security, stability, prosperity, or peace. Tucker hasn’t just gone too far in the epithets he hurled at Trump. He has gone too far over the edge into the abyss of anti-Americanism. He might as well be a Bernie Sanders in his indictment of our country and our ally, Israel.
